RESULTS

Aug2012TetrosettesThis year twelve members competed at Area 8 Tetrathlon with fantastic results all round!  Our mini boys team were first in the triathlon, with Benoit having the best shoot with a score of 920. Penelope scored an amazing 960 in the shoot, then went on to have the 3rd best swim and best run, making her a convincing winner of her class.  Nuala performed well in the swim and run to come 5th in the Junior girls.

The next day,  Henna Knott rode Nutmeg round the Junior course at Aylesford near Melton Mowbray,  in fine style, adding to her personal best swim the day before, to finish 3rd

Emily Proctor and Charlie Knott demonstrated their ability XC, over a technical course and both finished with the maximum of 1400 points for the ride. Both were Area 8 Intermediate winners and qualified for the Championships!!

Ellie and Hattie took the Open course slowly, both accruing time penalties, finishing in second and first place respectively. This meant that four CHPC members were heading for the Hartpury Championships!!! A fantastic achievement.

Tetrathlon Championship, Hartpury, Glos

Aug2012TetchampsTo her surprise, Hattie was told on her arrival that she had been selected  to represent England in a home international competition and the English Girls won.

As ever, the course builder used the challenging Hartpury fences to good effect to ensure that the ride result was influential in the final results. Hattie finished within the time despite having two unusual refusals which meant she had to run even faster the next day to make up and finished 10th. Both Emily and Charlie had some problems XC also, finishing 72nd and 27th respectively.

The ‘Mentoring’ system was in place again this year with high performance athletes available to assist at every stage.

I am very proud of all our competitors and would love to have even more members on the squad for next year. The dates for Winter triathlons are beginning to appear!  Don’t be shy, have a go!
