CHPC Tetrathlon News – Spring 2013

The tetrathlon season began in January and our keenest members have been out there competing in Triathlons (tet without the riding part) ready for the full competitions. Some of the results are below.

Fitzwilliam Hunt PC at Oundle

Henna Knott                  8th

Nuala Hemington           9th 2nd Best shoot score 920

Penelope Dampier-Kell  11th

Charlie Knott                 3rd 2nd Best shoot score 860

Benoit de La Sayette      5th

Lucas Hemington           6th Best shoot score 920

Zachary Dampier-Kell  3rd Best swim

Freddie de La Sayette    5th Best shoot score 880

All of these results were pleasing, especially for those who have moved up to the next age group. The pool at Oundle is 43m long so the swimmers make fewer turns than in the usual 25m pool.

Swimming Training

During the Half Term we held three swimming training session at Abbey Pool, coached by Christine Ilman .  Christine focused the hour long sessions on technique and speed development to enable the children to achieve the best possible swim result at a competition.  The members said that the sessions were very beneficial and that they had certainly worked hard!

We are hoping to run future session in the school holidays and over the summer with Christine Ilman and details will be sent out in an email.  I am currently investigating the opportunity to book a Swim Lane at Abbey Pool on a weekly basis but currently there is nothing available but will keep you posted!

Hattie Algar is off to the annual course held at Stonar School for Open level tetrathletes and we hope that the cortisone injection in her foot has worked magic on her nagging injury!

And finally…..

We would love to see more members having a go at tetrathlon! You do not have to be a brilliant swimmer or runner, just willing to keep going!!! AND It is FUN.  All the competition dates are on the Tet page of the Area 8 website.
