Team Show Jumping Peterborough

Well done to everone that turned up to compete at the Team Show Jumping Competition at The Peterborough Autumn Show on October 13th in horrendous weather and awful driving conditions.  I am sure that most of us would have ducked out had we not been part of a team and representing our Pony Club.  Well done to all our children who took part, we had some amazing results both from the teams and individuals. It was all made more worthwhile by having cheerful children and helpful and understanding parents.  So thank you.

The final results were as follows.

Class 4 (55cm) Unfortunately poor Summer Williams didn’t make it as she got held up in traffic on the A1 so we were left with a team of 3 who all went clear in the first round.  Grace Nicholls came 1st and Iona Sclater came 3rd, poor Lara Sclater’s pony slipped in the jump off so she ended up crossing her tracks while she sorted herself out but otherwise jumped clear.  The team ended up 7th but would have won if Lara hadn’t had to cross her tracks.  A very good effort from those three.

Class 5 (75cm) Brilliant performance from Lexi Day, Ella Chamberlain, Rose Pemberton and Grace Nicholls who came 4th.  For Lexi, Ella and Rose this was their first time representing the branch and they did a fantastic job, so well done!

Class 6 (80cm) This was the biggest class of the day and very very competitive.  Both teams were evenly matched and placed.  Scarlett Bedford, Charlotte Buchan, Iona Sclater and Jemima Pemberton came 2ndand Ellie Smallwood, Amelia Peak, Jodie Allen and Lucy Shrimpton came 4th.  Individually Iona came 4th.  There were some beautiful clear rounds and some stunning riding in dreadful conditions.  The ponies tried their hearts out with no one rolling more than a pole.  This really was an exceptional performance!!

Class 1 (90cm) Edward Monnington, Penelope Dampier, Lottie Casey and Jess Bennett put on a great show in the worst rain of the day, the going was awful and the more sensible horses didn’t particularly enjoy it. That aside Lottie went clear and the rest of the team finished on 12 faults which sadly wasn’t enough to place the team.

Class 2 (1m) Everyone had better rounds in this class and Penelope rode a lovely clear to come 6th individually.  So well done to Penelope!

Thank you all again for turning up and doing your best in really difficult conditions.
