Members working toward 'B' Test and above

Dear Pony Club Members,

We have been giving some thought to events for our older members to make for a more interesting and stimulating programme. We are intending to hold monthly Clinics with highly qualified coaches for our older members to continue to gain maximum benefit from our Branch of the Pony Club.

The following are some of the proposed events:-

Firstly a Clinic at the renowned Talland Equestrian Centre. Do go on their web-site and gen up on them.

The Clinic will comprise a Dressage Lesson riding advanced horses in double bridles, an unmounted session and a chance to ride their horses again, either showjumping or cross-country. All this for a discounted rate for Pony Club members of £75.00 as opposed to the normal price of £110.00. I have been very impressed with the training days that Talland has put on for holders of the Pony Club 'A' Test in the past and they are very pro Pony Club. I feel this is an excellent opportunity to further your horsemanship and knowledge by riding different horses under good instruction.

This has been earmarked for Tuesday 7th July 2015. Please let me know as soon as possible whether you would like to go.

Another centre of excellence is The Yorkshire Riding Centre run by Chris Bartle, FBHS. Again I have found them most inspirational and very helpful. I have contacted them about the possibility of a short course with your own horses and am awaiting a reply. This is a chance to have instruction under absolutely top class Instructors in a friendly and engaging environment. Please let me know whether you would be also interested in this – maybe later on in the year?

We have been offered the use of the Club House at Cambridge Polo club and I am hoping to arrange some demonstrations and talks.

On my hit list – a demo by a Master Saddler who was appointed saddler to our Olympic teams, a demo/talk on remedial farriery, feeding for the competition horse and a veterinary session. We could organise a minibus to go to the Your Horse Exhibition in the autumn which always has interesting demonstrations by leading riders, apart from unlimited shopping! Let me know if this is what you would like us to organise. More importantly we would like to know what you would like us to arrange. It is your Pony Club and we would like to know your ideas.

We have also arranged a Clinic with David Merrett on Wednesday 27th May at Herringswell. Details are on the Calendar. Do book in in the usual way.

Finally, have a great riding year. Do get in touch with myself or Catherine regarding the above.

Places on the Talland Clinic will be on a first come, first serve basis.
