DRESS CODE FOR RALLIES

RIDER

Hat – must conform to a CE mark with a quality symbol - either a BSI Kitemark or a SAI Global symbol or the Official Snell label and number.

The CE mark is insufficient on its own.

PAS015 and Snell E2001 meet higher impact criteria and give more protection.

We do not allow fixed peak hats for jumping.

The hat must be tagged to ensure it reaches the current standard. See rally organiser for new hat tags.

Skull cap covers should be navy blue or black.

Hair – long hair must be secured, preferably in a hairnet.

Jewellery – in the interests of safety, no earrings please. This applies to studs too.

White shirt and Pony Club tie or stock under hacking jacket or under Cambs Hunt Pony Club navy sweatshirt/light blue long sleeve polo shirt/dark blue rugby shirt or Cambs Hunt Polo shirt under Cambs Hunt Pony Club sweatshirt.

Special note: there are now available navy blue skinnnies that may be worn under your polo shirts when long sleeves are obligatory as for jumping/cross country.

Jodphurs – beige, cream or white. Dark colours may be worn for training only.

Footwear

Brown or black jodphur boots with matching half-chaps/gaiters. No fringes or tassels on half-chaps. Or long boots.

Pony Club Badges should be worn at all times when a jacket is worn.

Body Protectors are not compulsory except for cross-country .

Medical Armbands must be worn at all times – preferably on the arm but on the leg is fine if they are too big for the arm

Formal attire is required for Pony Club Tests and Competitions.

PONY

Pony Passport.

Tack must be clean, well fitting and cared for.

It should be in good repair, with all the stitching safe and secure.

Stirrups need   to be of the correct size - there should be at least half an inch on either side of your foot.

All ponies must have neckstraps or martingales for jumping. The hand straps on the   saddle of the smaller ponies, while fulfilling a good role are not suitable for jumping.

Numnahs should be of a dark colour, preferable navy blue ,brown or black.

 

EQUIPMENT

Water – both for drinking and sponging down.

Hay or small feed as appropriate.

Relevant rugs, depending on the season and the horse or pony.

Grooming kit.

Fly spray.

Brushing boots and overreach boots if needed for jumping

This is just a  rough guide –  you will want to add to it!

 

FIRST RALLY

We will look forward to meeting you at your first rally –  it will feel rather strange at first but you will soon make friends.

If you are at all worried, do contact the Rally Organiser and make yourself known on arrival.
