First of all Many Congratulations  to our Novice Dressage Team of Amelia Peak, Lottie Casey and Iona Tripp who have just learnt that they have now qualified for the Championships next month!
Yesterday was another memorable day for Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club with two of our teams qualifying for the Eventing Championships at Cholmondley Castle in Cheshire next month.
Many Congratulations to Sarah Horrell, Huw Gordon, Hattie Algar and Ellie Knott who qualified for the Open Championships; Tara McKenna, Rachel Dyke, Will Anthony and Hannah Kirk who are  going through to the Intermediate Championships, again at Cholmondley Castle, whilst  Emily Procter has qualified for the Novice Championships at Kelsall, also in  Cheshire.
There were some excellent individual performances and special congratulations must go to Sara Horrell, Hattie Algar and Emily Procter who were all first in their Arenas; to Will Anthony and Hannah Kirk who were both third in  their arenas.
A  huge thank-you  must  go to Val Gingell,  not only  for all her  brilliant training but for the support and advice she gave to all the teams on the day and to Lorna Gordon for all the organisation of the training and of the day itself.
Well done everyone! I was very proud of our Pony Club Members, both in the way they approached the competition, the camaraderie of team spirit and  the smartness of  their turn-out. The cross-country colours really do stand out well and make our team look a force to be reckoned with!
Keep the flag flying for Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club - I am sure you will!

Camp 2012
Wednesday, 11 July 2012 07:26
Preparations are already in hand for this highlight of the Pony Club Year. However we are desperately in need of more help to get Harlton ready. I would be most grateful, if you feel you can help in any way, to contact Wendy Ashcroft or Catherine Monnington. No previous experience necessary! I can assure you your help will be most warmly appreciated, even if you can only spend an hour or so - please don't be shy of coming forward.
I look forward to many  volunteers!
With  my  indebted thanks in advance.

Area Dressage
Wednesday, 11 July 2012 07:24
Sunday 8th July was a day of particularly inclement weather with rain lashing down most of the day leading to difficult conditions underfoot. However this did not deter our riders in the Area Dressage competition  who managed to stay cheerful and keep the flag flying for Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club.
They all rode good tests but many, many congratulations to Amelia Peake, 1st in her Arena; Lottie Casey 4th in her Arena and Iona Tripp, 13th in her Arena. The Novice team came 4th overall which is a tremendous achievement, especially  as they were only three in the team. Well Done to All of You.
Especial thanks to Sara  Horrell  for  all her hard work in coaching and to Georgie Horrell who hold the whole show together and was busy organising everyone on the day.

Mounted Games Teams
Wednesday, 04 July 2012 13:44
Many Congratulations to our Senior and Junior Mounted Games Teams who competed at the Zone Finals at Onley on Sunday 1st July. A very creditable performance from all concerned, ponies and riders splendidly turned out. Many thanks to Paul Roberts and Helen Prigmore for their patience and to Debbie for her help with the turnout and bacon rolls.
Incidentally the team who won the Turnout ended up with egg on their face as one of their ponies escaped from its bridle during a race! They say the horse is a great leveller!
Well done everyone - keep the flag flying for Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club -  I know you  will!

Harvey Roberts Race for Repeal
Friday, 08 June 2012 13:37
Congratulations Harvey!
'Horse and jockey were undoubtedly the pick of the paddock and went off even money favourites. They started well and hit the front about half a mile out.  All was going according to plan until the last furlong when the horse began to tire as she went up the slope  towards the finish line. Sadly they were overtaken by the representatives from the Essex and the Pytchley Hunts and beaten by a couple of lengths to 3rd place, some way clear of the remaining 4 runners.  Still, a very admirable result for horse and rider, and those of us present at Newmarket were very proud to call Harvey our Hunt representative.  He rode very tidily, was relaxed, enjoyed himself and got the best out of his horse'.
Harvey was riding Amethyst Dawn.
I am sure you will all join with  me in wishing Harvey Roberts success next Friday, 8th June when he is riding for The Cambridgeshire Hunt at Newmarket in aid of The Countryside Alliance's Race for Repeal. The Countryside Alliance do a tremendous amount  of work  to actively promote hunting  and are working on trying to repeal the ban.
Harvey has put himself to training with great dedication and determination and we wish him all the very  best.
Do come and support  him on the day - entrance is free for members under 17 years.
Good Luck Harvey!
