Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club are most indebted to Susan Beer for all her hard work in maintaining and running our web-site and thank her most sincerely  for all her input in the past.
Any future contributions should now  be addressed to Catherine Monnington who has kindly agreed to take over,  ably assisted by our hard-working Secretary Wendy Ashcroft.
Wimpole Show
Monday, 06 June 2011 21:19
Many congratulations to all those who took part in the Mounted Games Demonstration at the Cambridge County show at Wimpole yesterday. Riders and ponies coped amazingly well with all the razzmatazz of a big show and all those thousands of people! Everyone was very well -turned out and a credit to Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club. Well done! Congratulations to the Mums - those who sprinted incredibly fast in the lead-rein events; the slick and well-organised Arena Party - Horse of the Year Show, look out! Steve Casey for being our long suffering but enthusiastic commentator, all those who helped man our stall and dealt so welcomingly with enquiries. Especial thanks must go to Wendy and Andrew Ashcroft who were there from the crack of dawn to the bitter end, but still smiling. Finally a special thank-you to Emily Casey who has put so much hard work into getting this project off the ground. It was a great day.

Equine First Aid
Thursday, 14 April 2011 12:50
A huge thank you to Ali Schwabe, ably assisted by Sam, who gave up their time to help further the knowledge of  Equine First Aid to our members at Cambridge Vet School. A most informative and enjoyable morning followed by some fun and thought-provoking quiz questions. Many thanks to the long-suffering equine guinea-pigs who submitted very patiently to all the earnest bandaging and foot poulticing during the session! Let us hope you will not have to put your new skills into practice too soon! Enjoy your Easter Holiday rallies and events - I look forward to seeing you all around. Happy and Safe Riding!
Area Horse and Pony Care
Tuesday, 12 April 2011 15:43
Cambridgeshire Hunt hosted the Blue Cross Area Horse and Pony Care Competition at the South Cambs Equestrian Centre in Barrington. It was a great day - we were very fortunate in the weather and the venue - but huge thanks to all those who helped, both before and on the day to make the event run so well. It was very kind of Christian to let us use his centre - we seemed to take it over lock, stock and barrel! James made us some absolutely fabulous cakes, which fortified helpers and contestants alike. (Some of you might know that James was a finalist in the BBC Masterchef Competition and his cakes certainly did not disappoint!)Thank you to all the mums who kindly made some welcome rolls, parents who volunteered to be testers, Lorna who did a sterling job as our timer, the bell-ringers, the runners, Catherine for all her organising and suppplying of equipment, Frances for training our teams and Wendy, our most efficient and hardworking secretary. So, many sincere thanks to all who helped; congratulations to our teams - keep the flag flying one and all!
